In Summer 2025 I reached Mythic on Magic: the Gathering Arena with the following Alchemy deck:
2x Into the Flood Maw (BLB) 52
2x Breeding Pool (RNA) 246
3x Fabled Passage (BLB) 252
4x Unnatural Summons (YDSK) 27
4x Verdant Dread (YDSK) 17
2x Jill, Shiva's Dominant (FIN) 58
1x Kiora, the Rising Tide (FDN) 45
3x Ouroboroid (EOE) 201
2x Cryptid Inspector (DSK) 174
7x Island (EOE) 270
4x Paranormal Analyst (DSK) 69
7x Forest (EOE) 275
3x Willowrush Verge (DFT) 270
1x Fear of Impostors (DSK) 57
4x Abhorrent Oculus (DSK) 42
4x Oblivious Bookworm (DSK) 225
2x Get Out (DSK) 60
2x Temple of Mystery (FDN) 702
4x Harrowing Swarm (YDSK) 16
4x Unnerving Grasp (DSK) 80
I'm not usually a Simic player, I usually prefer playing Aggro decks, but I really enjoyed making and playing this deck specifically because it had a lot of versatility:
- Manifest Dread, as a keyword, provides you with a lot of choice on what you want to put on the battlefield;
- Paranormal Analyst is very cheap at
{1}{U}, and significantly increases the value you get by Manifest Dread, also allowing you to choose what to draw; - Unnerving Grasp, Into the Flood Maw, and Jill, Shiva's Dominant are the answer to pretty much whatever your opponent decides to play, being especially strong against Chocobo Landfall and Mardu Tokens decks, which where very popular at the time;
- Ouroboroid combined with Harrowing Swarm are the perfect finishers once you have a lot of face-down creatures on the battlefield, giving all of them multiple permanent +1/+1 tokens.
I've posted the deck on Archidekt as well.
